Diagnostic Imaging
West Madison Veterinary Hospital is dedicated to offering an array of diagnostic imaging services that can provide a quick and accurate diagnosis of many conditions so that we can quickly and accurately treat your pet.

Digital Radiography (X-Rays)
We offer state-of-the-art digital x-ray at West Madison Veterinary Hospital. This technology digitizes the image and you see a very detailed x-ray on a computer screen. Digital x-ray produces images that are clearer, offers computer enhancement options, and gives us the ability to share images with veterinary specialists outside of our hospital for consultation and second opinions. With this technology we can evaluate the musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems in your pet allowing us to provide a quicker and more accurate diagnosis and treatment options.

At West Madison Veterinary Hospital, ultrasound examinations are performed using a non-invasive imaging technique that generally does not require any sedation and causes minimal stress to your pet. Ultrasound is a pain-free, non-invasive technique that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce real-time images of your pet’s internal organs. Ultrasound is often considered more exact than radiographs because it provides a video of internal movement instead of pictures. Utilizing ultrasound allows us to evaluate the internal organs including kidneys, liver, spleen, bladder and heart, and to provide an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Ultrasound is often used in conjunction with radiography to confirm the presence of fluid in the chest or abdomen and to confirm and identify masses seen on X-rays.
